The innovative cobot (collaborative robot) created to pour beer simulating human movements.
Nepo
Born from an idea of Franco Filippi, CEO of EPF, in collaboration with Teo Musso, founder and master brewer of Baladin, with the intention of using the latest technological evolutions of robotics in a new context: the service of draft beer.
A SMART SOLUTION FOR THE WORLD OF CRAFT BEER
NEPO, measures 1200Lx1400Px1900H and weighs about 400 kg.
The system is equipped with an adjustable gripping hand for different types of glass.
The whole cycle can be divided into four phases:
- receipt presentation under the QR reader
- collection of the glass from the dispenser and subsequent control
- beer tapping
- glass storage in the dedicated area.
The tapping takes place through a compressed air system that controls the cobot, which pins the beer in the most artisanal way possible, also removing the foam to make sure that the taste is much better than a normal vending machine.
The COBOT has 2 modes of operation:
- Manual: in this way it is possible to implement one at a time and separately all the commands related to the individual parts and manually move the robot
- Automatic: operation mode that allows the robot to work in a cycle
The stem change and the insertion of new glasses can be easily and quickly managed by the operator.
The development of the robot prototype followed the “Open Mind” with the aim of becoming a tool that can serve beer or other types of drinks, in those places or contexts not manned by human personnel, thus became the subject of study by the Polytechnic of Turin.
NEPO, started operating in the summer of 2019 at Turin-Caselle Airport, stayed at the Baladin Open Garden Brewery in Piozzo and with great success continued its trip to Germany in October 2021 at the Fakuma fair, the following month in Bologna for the Mecspe exhibition and then stop at FICO in the Baladin area, where you can find it now.
