EPF and SML at Fakuma 2026

EPF and SML at Fakuma 2026

From 12–16 October, EPF and SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB will be at Fakuma 2026 to showcase how injection molding, automation and intelligent process control can work together to create more efficient, flexible and reliable production.

Two complementary applications will bring this approach to life, combining all-electric injection molding technology with advanced automation solutions.

All-electric injection molding and intelligent process control

SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB will showcase a fully automated production cell built around a 130-ton all-electric horizontal injection molding machine.

Running live throughout the show, the cell will produce a business card holder, demonstrating stable, repeatable and energy-efficient production.

A key highlight will be the new S-Concept Resin Viscosity Measurement, which continuously monitors resin viscosity and automatically adjusts processing parameters through a closed-loop control system. This helps ensure consistent part quality even when material properties vary, including when regrind material is used.

SUPATA®: flexible automation, quality control and traceability

EPF will showcase SUPATA® with an automated vertical warehouse, demonstrating how a single flexible system can handle different products while integrating automated quality control and traceability.

During the live demonstration, SUPATA® will process different components within the same production flow, carrying out dimensional and surface inspections using integrated vision technology. Automatic batch data assignment ensures full traceability, while fast recipe changes and optional automatic gripper changeovers make it easy to adapt the system to different products and frequent production changes.

A new chapter for SHIBAURA MACHINE and EPF in Southern Europe

Fakuma 2026 will also mark another step forward in the partnership between SHIBAURA MACHINE and EPF.

In July 2026, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a planned joint venture covering Italy and Southern Europe. By combining SHIBAURA MACHINE’s global expertise in injection molding with EPF’s experience in automation and engineering, the partnership aims to offer customers complete solutions for automated production cells while strengthening sales and service capabilities across the region. The agreements are expected to be finalized by the end of 2026.

Come and see these technologies in action at Fakuma 2026.
