Wave Energy Converter

The seas and oceans are sources of large quantities of renewable, dense and clean energy, presented in the form of waves and underwater currents.

The development of concrete and competitive technologies for electricity generation from the sea is currently the subject of a global effort, with the first objective of moving towards a society of sustainable development, with low carbon emissions. To get an idea of the potential of the exploitation of this resource, think that within 30 nautical miles from the coast there are 2 terawatts of available resource, about one third of the total installed electrical capacity in all countries of the world, 6 terawatts. If we still think that about 40% of the world’s population lives within 100 km of coastal areas, we can see how interesting it can be to capture this energy.
